a visit to crochet heaven...

it's funny thing how things work out, once upon a time I taught a crochet workshop, just the one, and two friends came and for one of those friends it put her back on the road to crochet...and my oh my how she has learnt and practised and hooked her way... and now she IS  Lusciously Loopy!

...and I couldn't be more delighted cos I never wish to teach anyone else to crochet, it was obviously meant to be just for her...so when I was at her home recently I asked nicely if I could share some of her creativity on my blog...
and here she is..
Lusciously Loopy...at home
ok actually that's Socks the cat sitting next to an early model crochet rug...

no really this is Lynn..., sitting in the lovely crafty corner she's made for herself, just so many inspiring things to look at!

and everywhere there's some of Lynn's magic...she is a whizz at making her home look lovely (and so welcoming) and has a designer's eye, crocheting lovely items in gorgeous yarns like cashmere and merino wool, bamboo, cotton...and such an eye for colour too...it is interesting that I call myself an artist, but she has an artist's eye for colour and form and beauty...

and I have been delighted with my pincushion in deep blue and pink...

and my four old school friends all loved their brooches...more of Lynn's handiwork...

oh and as it was meditation morning where 4 of us get together to meditate ie catch up and natter and sort out our lives and put the world to rights...and then sit for a while and quieten our busy minds... we had tea and 'meditation flapjack', delicious and guilt free...

so all in all a wonderful morning with a feast for the eyes and food for the soul!

I do hope you've enjoyed this virtual tour of Lynn's creative corner ...and you may like to visit her blog here...

ps
don't good friends just make the world go round?!

apres Woolfest...

so Woolfest is over for another year...and thanks to everyone who made it such a fab event...again! I had so many wonderful people visit my stall, friends and strangers, lovely feedback, lots of chat and made some good sales too...

so did you miss me?? I am sorry not to have been here for a while...somehow I just needed a breather as I put such a lot of energy into my stall ...but I was very pleased with how it looked ...a BIG thank you goes to husband of patience who painted everything white (and himself!) and to him and daughter mine for being the tech team setting up the stall...and she and I did the arty arranging, she always has such good ideas...

and I did get time out to look around too, daughter mine and I enjoy going round and shopping together...

here's a few of  my favourite stalls this year...I would so like to make a basket like this one...made by High Fibre...check out their website here

and every year I buy some lovely felt items from Jenny Pepper...they're irresistible! see more here

Lindsey Tyson is another feltmaker, with such beautiful felt creations... see her website here

and still more lovely things I spotted...beautiful knits by Jennie Atkinson...see more of her gorgeous patterns here

stunning hats and scarves made by Felt by Bridget...and still more here

and of course some beautiful animals in amongst all the stalls...

and loads and loads of people, and such a bustling happy atmosphere...

and to sum it all up...

Haberdashery etc...

the joy of John Lewis's...something for everyone...and an insight into the secret world of women who wear make up and perfume and tights...Yummy Mummies, Working Girls and Ladies Who Lunch...wearas I am simply a Woman Who Does Haberdashery...who said scissors aren't sexy?...and as for the glamour of threads ...and pins...and yarns...and fabrics and all manner of stitching temptation to get your creative juices flowing...

mind you there were some items of loveliness I did rather fancy... delicious textured tights and scarves ready for the autumn chills... to warm the cockles through the winter glooms...and I confess it here and now...I did buy some C...mas presents...eek! It's very satisfying to find a little gift or two to stash in my present cupboard and to know I have started the getting ready for C...mas game off well...although I have to take care not to peak too early!

and here's a little bit of vintage and making heaven...can't have too many buttons...aren't these jars just so cute?

and how often do you hear the word BODKIN these days??

and as it says here...

not forgetting...

these teeny balls of yarn surely won't hurt..they slip so easily into a bag...the best kind of take-away!

I think I would have liked to be a window dresser...don't you love the way shops arrange their beautiful wares...delicious colours and textures and prints... and so nice to see modern clean lines as I live in an old 'what I like to call' shabby chic house...well homely and lived in...

back home on the Metro...with just a few carrier bags full of necessitie(!) and sore feet...but very happy to have indulged in a lot of looking and a little shopping...

and here's a thought for the week to come...have a great Sunday xx
