dust lies thick in corners...windows smeared with winter dirt...squashed cushions unplumped on the rumpled sofa cover...dishes unwashed...clothes piled up unsorted...washed and unwashed together in heaps... discarded socks lie where they fall in curled up balls...books and papers and little pieces of plastic and small knotted strings and vitally important documents and odd earings and old matches and hairclips and bluetack lie on every surface...the mystery thickens...has another housewife gone the way of so many others...??

Mine too, though you missed the crumpled clothes due to the cat taking over the ironing board as a bed :) x
